before your appointment
It is important to be prepared for your first appointment with us.
Before your appointment, avoid Epsom salt baths, moisturizers, sun exposure and sexual activity for twenty-four hours.
Epsom baths cause the follicles to contract, which makes it difficult to remove the hair
Moisturizer prevents the Sugar from sticking to the skin
We cannot Sugar you if you have a severe sunburn.
Sexual activity can make the area more sensitive during treatment
It is recommended to book your appointment after your menstrual cycle when your body is less sensitive, but we CAN see you on your cycle if you wear a tampon or menstrual cup.
Ensure that your hair has grown for at least two weeks since your last hair removal method.
THREE weeks is even better.
Ideal hair growth is 1/4 of an inch (grain of rice). Your hair is long enough if it is laying soft and flat.
If you feel it is necessary due to your particular level of sensitivity you may take an anti-inflammatory before attending, or a non-drowsy Benadryl if your body produces a lot of histamines (common in fair haired or red-haired individuals.)
If you are coming for treatment in preparation for an event (wedding etc) we recommend having at least two appointments prior to the event so that you know how your skin will react before proceeding with the pre-event service, AND to obtain the maximum time before regrowth.
